- History of nursing care and its development as a profession. - Terminological definitions in nursing care theory and practice and in the health system. - Concept of health and responsibility of nursing care to carry out promotions and health education of individuals, families and society. - Theories and theoretical models of nursing care. - Relationship between theory, practice and research. - Relationship between discipline, science and research of nursing care. - Basic method of work in nursing care. - Communication and mutual relations in nursing care and in the nursing team. - Active role and autonomy of patients in nursing care. - Interdisciplinary aspect of nursing care and team work.

Goals:
- are capable of actively participating in the educational process and are able to assume personal responsibility for education; - are able to think critically, theoretically and rationally about multiple perspectives in nursing care; - learn about and accept the responsibility to develop knowledge and skills which will enable them to identify the concept of health and promote health and health education of patients, families, and society as a whole; - are able to evaluate theoretical decisions and practical situations and perform evaluation based on research; - are capable of reflective thinking, judging decisions, relevant problems of nursing care and perspectives in the future; - are able to understand the complex connection between theory, practice and research; - are qualified to critically use local and foreign textbooks.
